Breakfast food is our favourite food. We wake up thinking about it, and go to bed thinking about it, and to be honest the breakfast food that has been on our mind and taste buds is our go to Vanilla Fudge Protein Oats. If you’re anything like us, you’re more than guilty of pressing the snooze button one too many times and running out of time to make a decent breakfast (or time to do your hair even). This simple protein packed breakfast can be made the night before, making it our number one hack to a breezy morning routine.

Oats are a staple in many households and being super filling, antioxidant rich and fibre filled, there’s no denying they are one heck of a super grain. When paired with our new Vanilla Fudge Plantiful Protein – made from hemp, pumpkin seed and brown rice protein, you’ve got yourself a power couple! 

We’ve also thrown in organic chia seeds to create a thicker texture as they form a gel consistency when soaked. Despite their size, these bad boys pack a punch of nutrients such as fibre, protein, omega-3 fatty acids and various micronutrients – modern day superfood or superhero?

To complement our Vanilla Fudge Plantiful Protein, we’ve added a splash of vanilla extract and used unsweetened almond milk (but you can use any milk alternative you wish, or just plain ol’ milk – any of which work perfectly). All these ingredients are combined in a large bowl and evenly distributed into three mason jars. The lids are popped on and jars are place in the fridge for 4 hours or overnight to let all the ingredients soak up the liquid and expand - now its time to play the waiting game.

Once you’re done waiting, grab the oats out of the fridge and get creative (if you’re not rushing to get ready). We mixed in coconut yoghurt and added a few of our favourite toppings – sliced banana, almond butter (which could also be stirred in the night before too), Morlife Organic Hemp seeds and Cacao Nibs. The best thing about these jars of goodness is that they can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days, which means you can pre-make them Sunday night and grab ‘n’ go Monday – Friday. How easy is that?!

VANILLA FUDGE OVERNIGHT PROATS (PROTEIN OATS)

SERVES: 3 

MAKE TIME: 10 min (let set for at least 4 hrs)

INGREDIENTS

3 cups traditional oats
4 cups unsweetened almond milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 scoops Morlife Plantiful Protein Vanilla Fudge
1 tbsp Morlife Organic Chia Seeds

OPTIONAL TOPPINGS

Almond butter
Sliced Banana
Morlife Organic Cacao Nibs
Morlife Organic Hemp Seeds
Coconut yoghurt

STEP BY STEP

  1. Place all proats ingredients excluding toppings into a large bowl and mix until combined.
  2. Put the top on the container and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight to let the ingredients soak and expand.
  3. Finally, add in the coconut yoghurt and rest of toppings when ready to eat. Store in refrigerator for up to 5 days.
