Difference Between Popular Supergreens
With an abundance of super greens available at Morlife, we know you’re all wondering the differences and benefits between them all! This week we are walking you through the nutritional differences between Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Spirulina, Chlorella and Kale Powder. Not only do these greens boast an abundance of nutritional benefits, but they are all certified organic!
Barley Grass
Made from 100% sweet young shoots of barley that are grown in certified organic conditions.
Morlife’s Certified Organic Barley Grass contains the benefits of the plant pigment chlorophyll, which is known for its alkaline properties. It also packs in antioxidants thanks to Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and is made up of 26.2% protein. With an impressive PRAL measurement score of -39.3, Morlife’s Certified Organic Barley Grass leaves an alkaline residue in the body and has a mild taste.
Wheat Grass
Made from 100% young shoots of wheat that are grown in certified organic conditions. Morlife’s Certified Organic Wheat Grass also contains the benefits of chlorophyll like Barley Grass. It also features Superoxide Dismutase, and contains 17.7% protein. Morlife’s Certified Organic Wheat Grass contains a slightly higher content of chlorophyll than Barley Grass and has a stronger distinct taste.
Spirulina
Derived from a single-celled blue-green algae which is grown in temperate waters around the world. Morlife’s Certified Organic Spirulina is known as a potent alkaliser that offers an abundance of nutritional benefits. It contains phytonutrients and antioxidants including Betacarotene and Phycocyanin. It also features chlorophyll and packs in 14% of the recommended daily intake for iron in a 3.5g serve. Morlife’s Certified Organic Spirulina contains an impressive 70.9% of protein.
Chlorella
Likewise to Spirulina, Chlorella is a single-cell green algae which is well known for its alkalising properties and all round nutritional benefits. Morlife’s Certified Organic Chlorella features the goodness of antioxidants such as carotenoids and chlorophyll, which is slightly higher than in Spirulina. It also contains 57% protein and is available as broken cell wall chlorella, which allows it to easily be digested by the body.
Kale
Also known as ‘King of the Super Greens’, Morlife’s Certified Organic Kale Powder contains an abundance of nutritional goodness.
