What is Hemp?

Reality is that not everyone knows what Hemp actually is. And most people even associate Hemp as being the same as “Marijuana”, which in fact is totally the opposite. The confusion behind this is because they both come from the same plant, Cannabis sativa, but they are very different in nature!

The main difference between Hemp and Marijuana is the THC (delta 9-tetrahydrocannabinol) content of each variety. THC is the cannabinoid associated with the psychoactive effects (or magic effects if you want to call it) that are present in Marijuana. Hemp has very low levels of THC (less than 0.3%) while marijuana is known to have high levels of THC. So at the end of the day, Hemp does not have therapeutic effects because of its low levels of THC and is totally safe for human consumption!

What is the relationship between Hemp and Sustainability?

You might not know but Hemp is a farmer’s best friend! Hemp does not need much space to grow and when it grows it grows super fast. So farmers don’t require much land or time to have their crops ready to be harvested. Hemp might even be the superfood of the Future!

Is it Hemp Environment FRIENDLY?

Hemp is actually in Harmony with Nature. Hemp thrives on less water than most crops (soy, corn, wheat). Plus Hemp is a very resistant crop that does not need those weird chemicals used in most crops these days.
