Monk fruit sweetner

Really liked the taste of this seeetner. Never heard of it before until I saw it in US recipe. Didn’t know if it was available in Australia. Like the fact that Monk Fruit is a totally natural product.

Finally, something close to sugar without the terrible after-taste

Although only 100g this sweetener will last me a long time - you only need a little for that sweet kick. It doesn't replace sugar but certainly is better than any other replacement I've tried.

Moorlife monk fruit powder

The taste was good for a non-nutritive (or very low calorie) sweetener. Probably better than stevia. The brown colour of the powder changed the appearance slightly of the cheesecake I made but the texture seemed unchanged. It's an expensive product but if you only make the occasional sweet thing like me then definitely worth the price.

Monk fruit, also called Luo Han Guo or in Latin Siraitia grosvenorii is a fruit native to China and has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for centuries. Monk Fruit is simply the dried monk fruit juice (not an extract) which has a subtle caramel undertone and is roughly 8x sweeter than sugar.

YES! While Monk Fruit is 90% carbohydrates, it is only 8.1% sugar and the intensity of the sweetness means that you don’t need much in a recipe. This makes it an ideal sweetener for those following a keto diet and want a sweet fix.

Monk Fruit can be used to sweeten bliss balls, baked goods, smoothies, nice cream and many others.

Monk fruit’s sweetness comes from naturally occurring antioxidants called ‘mogrosides’ and is renowned for its intense sweetness without the bitter aftertaste common to other sweeteners. You can use monk fruit as a sugar alternative sugar in recipes but it won’t affect your blood glucose levels like sugar.
