Hemp Falafel Pizza

By Morlife Naturopath Marlie

As someone who does best on a gluten free diet, homemade pizza has always been a mission. Usually I would avoid it, but when my son declared that pizza was his favourite food, I had to find a recipe that worked for us.

The problem was that store bought gluten free bases are tiny and taste like cardboard; and worse yet, they’re usually full of starchy, nutrient poor gluten free flours, making it hard to justify eating on a regular basis. But if you go super healthy and make the base out of cauliflower, you’re dedicating hours (and a lot of cleaning) to making a dinner that might fall apart on you at any moment. This all changed with the recipe I am about to share with you.

The Hemp Falafel pizza base is one of Morlife’s best kept secrets! The Hemp Falafel mix has an impressive nutrition panel, packed full of fibre, protein, potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium – they offer so much and taste so yummy it’s hard to keep them in the cupboard on busy nights throughout the week! But for a little variety (and to satisfy my son’s daily requests of pizza for dinner), they’re also handy as a super powered gluten free pizza!

We asked two of our favourite Instagram accounts to put their spin on our recipe, check out what they did below.

Ingredients
1 Packet Morlife Hemp Falafel Mix
1/2 Cup of Water (or enough to form a dough)⠀⠀
1 Grated Zucchini⠀
⠀

Method
1. Mix the base ingredients together in a bowl. ⠀⠀
2. Roll thinly onto a lined tray. ⠀⠀
3. Bake for 15 minutes in a 180C oven. ⠀⠀
4. Top with ingredients of choice.
5. Bake again until cooked/golden and serve.

The Tasty Twins topped their pizza with roasted chickpeas, spinach, tomatoes, capsicum and chilli flakes!

The Clean Kweens put tomato paste, basil, bocconcini, cherry tomatoes, spinach and purple onion on ours, the perfect mix! Ditch the cheese to make it vegan.⠀
